Today, I was in the neighbourhood of the Pergamonmuseum and used that to do a check-up on the animations. Everything was working fine of course. While I was going through the exhibition, I was rather watching the people enjoying, than the exhibition itself. Of course, I have visited several times and had therefore eyes for something else. It was fun to see people discussing the monumental architecture and how the old Uruk-ians made all that probably happen.

As far as I have heard, the exhibition had over 150.000 visitors and the exhibition catalogue is nearly sold out, so that the second edition is already in the making. If you haven’t seen the exhibition until now, you still have time. You can visit until the 8th of September in Berlin or after that in Mannheim. Don’t miss it!

Since today, you can purchase a nice little postcard at the museumshop of the Pergamonmuseum Berlin. It depicts the Seleucid Bit Resh and in it’s centre the Anu-Antum-Temple. It is basically the same motif as you can see in our project description of the Seleucid Period in Uruk.

There are only 1.000 cards, so be quick if you want one!

With the kind permission of the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin and the photographer Olaf M. Teßmer, we are able to present some impressions of the Uruk exhibition and the opening. If you did not see the exhibition already, take the time and go there! Hover over the pictures to get some captions.

After the exhibition “Uruk – 5000 years of the Megacity” has finally opened and is still running, we will – step by step – release some of the material that you can see in the exhibition and the accompanying catalogue. Today, we uploaded the project page of the White Temple. The inside view of the temple as shown above is also in the exhibition itself. You’ll find it in form of a big three-dimensional diorama, which is – by the way – an excellent point for a photo!

You can find the project page of the White Temple here.

The first week of the exhibition was pretty eventful. First, the opening was a full success, many have come to get a first look at the exhibition. We were very happy that everything was ready and of course that our animations were running smoothly. We got a lot of congratulations for which we are very thankful. After five years of work, this feels pretty good.

The press did pick up the exhibition as well and some of them mentioned us or used our graphics. The Tagesspiegel, FAZ, Die Welt and Die Berliner Morgenpost are the ones that we are aware of. We already know, that there will be more. For example, the next issue of the “Antike Welt” will have several articles about Uruk and of course graphics of us. We will keep you posted.
